History was made on Monday 22nd October, 2018 at the Loveworld Convocation Arena Annex, Ikeja Lagos when the National Office of the World Safety Organization in Nigeria decorated 108 SafERR (Safety & Emergency Response Ready) Ambassadors during her first national conference.
The occasion which was well attended by safety professions from across the nation as well as members of the public featured the decorations of our prestigious Ambassadors with the SafERR medals and brooches and the presentation of recognition certificates and award of honourary membership of the WSO.
The SafERR program was created to raise more awareness on issues of health, safety, security and environment at homes, offices, communities and across the nation. The program seeks to take the message of safety to children, adults and community leaders and all those within the spare of influence of the ambassadors and by so doing, make safety a way of life nationwide.
SafERR Ambassadors were urged by the WSO Nigeria to be proactive, innovative and committed to slogan of SafERR which is “Promoting Health & Safety, Saving Lives!”. They were also encouraged to prioritize as one of their key activities, the setting-up of SafERR Clubs/Chapters in educational institutions, workplaces and communities across Nigeria. This is imperative, as children would need to imbibe a culture of safety so that they can grow up to become safety conscious adults. And adults would need to be reminded or conscientized about the health and safety practices. The WSO Nigeria is passionate about driving this change and has already carried out advocacies to over 35 schools, campuses and communities across the nation.
Several safety professionals gave goodwill remarks during the investiture and harped on the need for the ambassadors to help deepen safety awareness across all strata of national life as this is vital for the socio-economic development of Nigeria.
Responding on behalf of the newly inaugurated SafERR Ambassadors, Mr. Dapo Omolade, CEO – Hybrid Group Limited and the Chairman of the 2018 SafERR Ambassadors Group, pledged their commitment to making a success of the SafERR program. He encouraged all ambassadors to contribute their quota to the overall success of the group during their one year tenure as ambassadors.
WSO Nigeria congratulates all SafERR Ambassadors as we anticipate the remarkable results that would be attained during their tenure.
